BEST
I wake up most mornings in a VERY groggy fog with coffee as the first thing on my mind. The kid’s morning usually starts by 6am(sometimes earlier) because they can’t seem to understand the concept of sleeping in. I, on the other hand, start functioning probably around...well….lets just say later than that. Anything BEFORE that will never be mentioned in this house….ever.After the 2nd cup of coffee kicks in, my husband heads off to work and the kids and I usually start our day( I say “usually” to pretty much everything because when you have multiple little people, hardly anything ever happens the same way twice). We start with breakfast, I take Elijah to school(when he’s not sick), do some chores, and then li’l joe and I start his school day while the girls color or play by themselves.During that time I have my artistically enhanced planner(compliments of the little people) out looking at ALL the things that need to be done. Usually that “To Do List’ is ALWAYS WAY longer than I have hours in my day…..so I prioritize the best I can while half distracted by all the little people hanging around my legs desperately asking for more fishy crackers, milk, juice, water, help, a bath, and their OTHER shoe. Then we set out to conquer the day. At that point I HAVE TO remind myself that there is always going to be a ‘better way’ to organize, a more concise way to prioritize, a more exciting way to homeschool, or just do school in general, and a more efficient way to help Lij remember his ABC’s. There’s probably gonna be a faster way to potty train, a cheaper way to grocery shop, and a more natural line of cleaning supplies to use - and that’s all ok. The point is, today my goal is to my best. Then, when I know better, I’ll eventually do whatever that better is. BUT, for today, my BEST is ENOUGH.
