Life is a party, my friends! to be totally honest with you (ya know, just in case I  haven't been already), sometimes I'm the person crying by myself in the corner, and other times I'm the one dancin in the middle of the dance floor - but hey, either way, I'm AT THE PARTY.

In our home, celebrations are big, exciting, and happen often!!!! Elijah has taught us more than we could ever learn on our own about the value of celebrating.

First of all, Elijah celebrates like its nobody's business! He dances like nobody's watching, each movement a statement of freedom. He has no inhibitions whatsoever, and its my favorite thing! He feels rhythm and excitement with his soul and it radiates to the tip of his toes and through the ends of his fingertips.

Second of all, Lij has taught us the value of celebrate the "little" things. The little things are NOT lost on us, they are EVERYTHING and because of that, we celebrate like there's no tomorrow!

We celebrated when lij didnt just walk for the first time, but when he held his head up, when he made eye contact, and when he attempted to sit upright on his own for the first time. we celebrated when he attempted to take the milk carton out of the fridge and unscrew the cap (the unscrewing of the cap is a difficult motor skill and takes an immense amount of focus and determination!). it also meant cleaning up spilt milk, but we'll take that spilt milk any day(dear Lord did I just say that out loud?!)  if it means he's practicing, initiating, and exerting his independence. We celebrate EACH AND EVERY NEW WORD that he articulates enough for us to understand. we celebrate each and every task he attempts on his own, and every step it took to get there.

Our celebrations have poured into every aspect of our lives - We see the incredible ability for our daughter to burst into song as the alphabet is composed into the most beautiful three-year-old melody. We get excited when my oldest makes scrambled eggs for the first time in his own, or makes up his own fortnight dance that he is brave enough to perform in front of Mommy and Daddy.

CELEBRATE the wins in life, because we don't have the time or energy to get hung up on the the hang ups that take us no where. There is always something to celebrate - FIND IT. Show up to the party,  and dance like no ones watching- the dance floor’s open!
